Presentation by Mammad Zulfugarov, EMPA Candidate, Maxwell School Syracuse University

Effective international or regional cooperation mechanisms are necessary within the realm of international relations. Organizations play a key role in these affairs and can also present challenges and obstacles. Mammad Zulfugarov is a career diplomat, currently as First Secretary in the Regional Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Azerbaijan. He will provide an analytical overview and incorporate current initiatives, new multilateral cooperation mechanisms and identify some tendencies in the international arena that impact global affairs.

About the Speaker
Mammad Zulfugarov is an EMPA candidate exploring issues of economic dimensions of global power, as well as sustainable development challenges in regional and global perspectives. He is a career diplomat with more than twelve years of dedication to international affairs, currently as First Secretary in the Regional Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is eager to focus on related issues such as regional connectivity as an instrument for sustainable growth and security via a research assistantship. Mammad holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a specialization in International business and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
