Must-see video of the magical pueblo San Jose Del Pacifico. Paul Cicala put together this travelogue report on the experiences of a group from Arizona, Colorado & California and their specific experience with the magic mushrooms and "psychedelics" in San Jose Del Pacifico. It's legal to use the mushrooms in that region of Oaxaca and many tourists visit San Jose del Pacifico every year. The travelogue also examines the benefits of the use of psychedelics. The person reporting (Paul Cicala), did not take part in use of mushrooms. However, he did document and take video of the group who took the tour through the mountains (many, of which, took part in the Oaxaca psychedelic experience during their journey).
The travelogue also goes in-depth on the groups visit to the Guelaguetza festival in Oaxaca de Juarez ... to visiting San Jose del Pacifico ... to their experience at a mezcaleria in Oaxaca and visit to the famous mercado of Tlacolula. The report also follows the group through the Zapoteco indigenous region all the way to the coast of Oaxaca (Zipolite and Puerto Escondido). The group passed through Mazunta as well en route to Puerto Escondido and their "liberation" of recently-hatched turtles on the beaches.
Some of the group was from the Marijuana Industry Trade Association (MITA). In addition to promoting companies that take part in the medicinal use of marijuana, the organization is also looking into the expanding on the potential use psychedelics such as the mushrooms (or shrooms) some tourists and local Zapotec native Americans use while in San Jose Del Pacifico.
Other places visited include the central valley of Oaxaca and the pyramids & ruins of Monte Alban.
