Leviathan. Not myth, not metaphor, but a fire-breathing monster described in more detail than any angel or human. Job calls him untameable, Isaiah says he is still waiting to be slain, and the Psalms speak of him as God’s own creation frolicking in the sea. And yet… the Bible never says he was destroyed.
