Share Play on the PS4 allows you to share your screen with a friend, letting them watch you play a game in real-time. This is one of the modes within the Share Play feature.

Here's how to set it up:

Before You Start (Important Requirements):

PlayStation Plus (Host Only): As the host (the one sharing their screen), you must have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Your friend (the viewer) does not need PS Plus for this "Share Screen" mode.

Good Internet Connection: Both you and your friend need a stable, high-speed internet connection. PlayStation recommends at least 2 Mbps upload and download for stable Share Play. A wired (Ethernet) connection is always preferable to Wi-Fi for minimizing lag.

PSN Friends: You and the friend you want to share with must be on each other's PlayStation Network Friends list.

PS4 or PS5 Consoles: You can Share Play with friends on either a PS4 or PS5 console.

Party Chat: Share Play is initiated from a PS4 Party.
Steps to Share Your Screen:
Start a Party:

From your PS4 Home screen, go to the "Party" icon (it looks like a headset).
Select "Start Party".
Choose "Closed Party" if you only want specific friends to join.
Invite your friend (or friends) to the party from your Friends list.

Make sure you are both in the party and can hear each other. This is crucial for communication during the session.

Launch the Game:

Once your friend has joined the party, launch the game you intend to play and share.

Initiate Share Play:

While you are in the game, press the SHARE button on your DualShock 4 controller (it's the button to the left of the touchpad).

From the Share menu that appears on the left side of your screen, select "Share Play."

Select Your Friend:

You'll see a list of friends currently in your party. Select the friend you want to start the Share Play session with. They will receive an invitation.

Choose "Share Screen" Mode:

After your friend accepts the invitation, your PS4s will connect, and a 60-minute session timer will begin.

You'll then be presented with options for the Share Play mode. Select "Share Screen".
