Описание к видео Understanding Science Denial (And What We Can Do About It) | Richelle Witherspoon | TEDxUNB

Well aware of the challenges of false and misleading information on the internet, she initially set out to understand what causes some people to fall prey to false- and pseudo-scientific information, while others do not. Her research led her to a shocking conclusion: the two groups have a lot more in common than either would like to believe. In her talk, titled “Understanding Science Denial (and What We Can Do About It)”, she will challenge audiences to question their own information practices and beliefs before sharing some key principles in persuasion that focus, not on facts, but on the true foundations upon which belief is formed. Richelle is an academic librarian who teaches university students to navigate the vast information landscape and emerge informed.
