Part 2 of trying to fix this POS air compressor, I found a ring that was a bit oversized, and was able to get the shrink fit 2 piece piston back apart to install it, but it seems this ring is just too soft and can't handle the pressure. But if you'd like to try fixing your compressors rod, that doesn't have a serviceable ring, and replacements aren't available, this is how I did it.
