Three of the highest-ranking Oregon State Senators received bomb threats Thursday morning. The threats, deemed not credible by law enforcement, come at an extremely tense time in the political landscape.

Senate President Rob Wagner (D-Lake Oswego) and Senate Majority Leader Kayse Jama (D-Portland) received threats Thursday morning. According to the Oregonian/OregonLive, Senate Pro Tempore James Manning Jr. (D-Eugene) was the third legislator to receive this threat.

In an email sent to lawmakers, Oregon State Police (OSP) said the three Oregon Senators were targeted via email with a claim that there was a bomb in their residential mailboxes.

"Explosives Technicians responded to all three locations and conducted thorough checks. All threats were determined to be false, and no explosive devices were located," said Oregon State Police Lt. Casi Hegney.
