On Saturday, an Interfaith group walked 22 miles from Berkeley to Alameda. The pilgrimage mirrors the distance between Gaza City and the Rafah refugee camp in the Gaza strip. This walk is part of an international ceasefire pilgrimage movement that began after one man in New Zealand, overwhelmed with sadness about the war, walked the 22 miles in prayerful solidarity with Gazans.
The walking group was composed of more than 45 religious congregations from across the East Bay. They are calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
