If you’re wondering what’s up – why this one employee seems so difficult, but you can’t quite put your finger on what’s going on – you could have a gaslighting employee on your hands.

There are two basic reasons why an employee gaslights their manager. This video talks about what to do when you think an employee is intentionally gaslighting you. Below you’ll find a link to a second video on what to do if you think an employee is gaslighting you unintentionally, as a defense mechanism.

Gaslighting – the term comes from a great old movie called Gaslight – is psychological manipulation designed to make you doubt yourself, and it can be really subtle and hard to deal with.
