This video is about the the Law of Adverse possession by which a stranger or Trespasser becoming owner of the property against the interest of the True owner. This is a Peculiar situation Recognised by law where in a person who occupy the property of another,as a trespasser or stranger, adverse to the interest of the true owner of the property, openly continuously for more than 12 years perfect his title by adverse possession or prescription. The said possession more than 12 years( in case of govt. land it is 30 years) Or
more, should be open,continious, uninterrupted and should be known to all the general public particularly to the owner of the property. such person who is in adverse possession, should have the intention to continue the possession to acquire ownership of the property by his action.
The owners of Immovable properties are bound to secure their properties by taking adequate measures in order to protect their properties. otherwise the Tresponsors and strangers will occupy the property. In such a situation owners have to take legal action or disposes them. The law prescribes 12 years Limitation period for taking action against such illegal possession. if owner fails to take such legal action,his right to take legal action is lost and the person who is in possession of his property will perfec this title by adverse possession.
