Snow Bros. (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Capcom's 1991 NES game, Snow Bros.

This is a thoroughly solid port of an old classic but long-since forgotten Toaplan arcade game. It also costs an arm and a leg to buy it now for the NES. I never owned it way back, but this was another go-to weekend favorite from the video rental place up the street. It's style is somewhat similar to Bubble Bobble, with the huge number of single-screen stages that require you to trap and kill all the enemies. Different enough to make for a new experience, but similar enough to feel familiar and comfortable.

There was also a port to the Genesis handled by Toaplan themselves, but I always preferred this one. Maybe because it was the version I played first, but I dunno. There's something quaint about the way the game looks and sounds on the NES that always appealed to me over the admittedly much better looking 16-bit version.
