Kickback Demo Playthrough (Steam Next Fest June 2024)

This looked interesting conceptually, but I was unsure whether I would have a good time with it either mechanically or visually.

Fortunately, I ended up enjoying it more than I expected to. If you're up for a survivors-like with Kickback's particular movement gimmick, its mechanics are quite well done. It has a screen shake slider which is a big plus; I'm hoping they can also add one for full-screen flashes.

The one thing I found potentially problematic, particularly for keyboard/mouse players, is it can become difficult to move when you are against a wall, as you really have to jam the mouse cursor specifically towards the wall you are nearest in order to move away from it.
