When motorists and horse riders work together on the roads, everyone is safer.

This is a few minutes of today's unavoidable visit to our local National Speed Limit road. 'Unavoidable' because we need to use the roads for a few minutes each way to access our local bridleways. We are fortunate to live in a rural area with good provision. Thanks to the people, groups and organisations that have helped to spread our safety message to the sensible and very big majority of drivers that didn't previously know that horses can be a hazard if frightened. Thanks to the big majority of motorists who take care around vulnerable road users.

There are still too many tragedies but most people now 'get it'. There will always be a small minority of road users that don't respect any of us and could seriously hurt or kill, irrespective of their mode of transport. Working together makes a difference.
