MILAN LINATE AIRPORT (LIN)
After a short business trip in Milan, it’s time to go back to Malta.
Air Malta, the Maltese flag carrier, provide a direct flight from Milan Linate Airport (LIN).
LIN is the 3rd international airport serving Milan great metropolitan area, behind Malpensa Airport (MPX) and Orio al Serio Airport (BGY, situated in Bergamo Province).
Linate airport is situated in Segrate Municipality, just 7 km east of the city centre. It served 9,233,475 passengers in 2018, and 7,719,963 in 2022.
Linate airport capacity has been reduced from 32 slots per hour (technical capacity) down to 22 slots per hour. Currently only domestic or international flights within the EU or to the United Kingdom have been allowed.
In July 2023, Linate airport was named Europe's Best Airport in the 5-10 Million Passenger category by the Airport Council International.

My seat for today’s flight is 24A (Economy Class).
Economy Class seats have no IFE (In-Flight Entertainment). Each seat has a reclining tray, two storage boxes and USB-A charge (located between the two seats).

PUSHBACK and TAKEOFF
PUSHBACK at 15:30 hrs (local time), 5 minutes after the scheduled departure time, and then we start taxiing to RWY 18/36.
Linate Airport has two parallel north-south runways: RWY 17/35 (600 mt long, used only by small aircrafts) and RWY 18/36 (2,442 mt long).
The takeoff was smooth, with a panoramic view of Southern Milan’s metropolitan area.

THE FLIGHT
We climbed to cruising altitude (39,000 ft) and we proceeded towards south, flying over Piacenza, Pisa, the Tyrrhenian Sea and the western area of Sicily.
After then we start descending and approaching Malta International Airport, flying over Gozo, Comino and the northern region of Malta.

We landed smoothly at Malta International Airport at 17:15 (local time), perfectly on time.
