The Whale and its Symbolic Characters | Movie Review | Darren Aronofsky| Brendan Fraser | Sadie Sink

The deep, dark waters of the ocean hold many secrets and none as mysterious and majestic as the whale. Samuel D Hunter's play, The Whale, is a tale of a man who, like the whale, is both a creature of great size and power and one that is vulnerable and in need of protection. It is a story of pain, redemption, and the human condition, brought to life on the big screen by the visionary director, Darren Aronofsky.

The Whale is a complex and layered film that explores the depths of the human psyche, and the emotions that drive us. At the heart of the story is a man named Charlie, played brilliantly by Brendan Fraser. Charlie is an overweight, middle-aged man, who is dying of heart failure. He has alienated himself from the world and is living alone in his apartment, trying to come to terms with his own mortality.
