not saying these companies were the best during the years they had these old logos, or even stating any kind of opinion towards these brands tbh. i have no idea what they were up to before i was born or actually now. “im you but better” is just meme ok

++ these brands are randomly selected, popped up in my head!

the main point of this video is it’s just fun to see how drastic logos can change ^^

feelings/inspiration behind this video:

… im just a boi ,yearning for all that minimalism has robbed us of,, some logos back then (not necessarily included in this video) just had so much personality? creativity…. quite literally being iconic . and also, humanity, even. like you can clearly see the human touch. you get me???? i guess it's… correlated to disconnect? like when you first start out, your idea is a precious baby right? you're in the nurturing phase. over time the scaling up… your baby is now a boring old man allergic to peasants. like i know you know the difference between eating at a family run asian resto v. mcdonalds. 

and yes ik change is inevitable, i get simplicity, practicality.

but i cant deny this variant of nostalgia x mourning. there are many logos many people never knew existed. it's not like we actually long for the companies’  services back then, we don't know everything. it's just an odd sadness to see logos get stripped down. and down again. why do i care? 

maybe it's just frustration at the reminder that corporations are sometimes out of touch, make bad decisions, don't listen to the people ?

maybe it reminds me of gradual memory loss?

why does it feel like betrayal? it's just shapes and colors…

i guess humans just don't like losses. 

or maybe to be less dramatic; you just don't need to fix something if it aint broken

……. 

other: i thought of making this video more grim; using a graveyard setting for the “dead” logos…but these are so cute, i cant do that to them
