This is a spoken teaching based on Paracelsus: Life and Teachings by Franz Hartmann—a comprehensive guide to the philosophy of the rebel physician who burned the textbooks of the establishment and declared that the only true teacher was the "Light of Nature."

Paracelsus (1493–1541) was born Theophrastus von Hohenheim in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, and spent his life wandering across Europe—from the mining towns of Austria to the universities of Basel, the battlefields of Italy, and finally to Salzburg, where he died at forty-seven.

Franz Hartmann (1838–1912) was a German physician turned Theosophist who worked alongside Helena Blavatsky and later founded the German Theosophical Society. In 1887, Hartmann published this book to rescue Paracelsus's scattered and largely untranslated writings from obscurity, presenting for modern seekers a systematic account of the rebel physician's cosmology, medicine, and practical magic.
