Shane and Dom take you inside Mexico's top technologically advanced shoe last factory.

Shoe lasts have been documented to be used as early at 400BCE by the Romans and still is an essential tool used today in modern shoemaking. From sneakers to dress shoes, creating a shoe starts with a last. "Laest" meaning footprint in old English, precisely describes its use. In modern day shoemaking, high density polyethylene is used instead of wood. This makes modern shoe lasts less prone to cracking or warping, and is a more recyclable option by reusing the materials for future lasts.

We went to Mexico to explore what happens in a shoe last factory. Making over 300 lasts a day, this factory displays the highest level of craftsmanship throughout every single part of their shoe last making process. While this factory makes common shoe last styles, they also have clients with interesting shoe design and even a little surprise in the end for you.
