In this course, we will start from a blank Excel workbook and we will build every single component of this dashboard step by step. This course does not use any programming or VBA or macros. We instead use Excel formulas and conditional formatting. You will learn the true power of Excel formulas and conditional formatting in order to deliver very simple, but effective dashboards in Excel. You will be on your way to become an Excel dashboard expert.

What you will specifically learn about Excel in this course are data input techniques such as Excel tables, dropdown lists, checkbox form control. We will be writing simple and also advanced formulas. We use the named ranges feature very effectively to write formulas that are simple to understand and simple to write.

We will also use conditional formatting feature. We will actually use it with formulas and recover various functions in this course. Some of the functions are date, month, end of month, weekday. We use the index and match quite a bit. We will also use the if function, count ifs and sumproduct. Finally, we also use the if either or and sum functions as well.

In addition to the functions and the formulas, I also present a 10-point formatting checklist that you can use to make sure that your final output is visually effective and consistent. I will also present a release checklist, which is a list of items that I check for before I publish any of my Excel templates, so you will learn those steps as well to make sure that the template that you deliver to your end-users or customers, they are of the highest quality possible.

The requirements for the course. If you're completely new to Excel, then I would recommend the free useful Excel for beginners course that I have, but you've used Excel before and I've written some simple formulas, then you should be able to follow this course, because I explain every step in the video tutorials.

You will need Microsoft Excel installed in your computer. Almost all the features that I use are compatible with the Excel online, which is the free web version of Excel. In situations where a feature is not compatible with the Excel online version, then I provide an alternate technique that you can use.

Even this vacation tracker template required several hours of work and many iterations before I ended up with a solution that is simple and effective. You will be learning all those techniques in less than five hours.

What is in this course?
The course is an on-demand video tutorial based course where you can view these video tutorials chapter by chapter at your own pace. There are six chapters in this course, the introduction and the scope, then we will talk about setting up the input for the template and then we will build the team dashboard and then we'll build the employee report. Then we will talk about the checklist of items to look for before we publish the template to our end users or customers.

Finally, there is a chapter on frequently asked questions where based on the questions that our students ask about this template, then I will be creating videos and adding them to the last frequently asked questions chapter.
