SE winds bring more onshore push and texture, often adding power to the surf, while stronger southerlies can feel heavier and more demanding, especially with swell running down the coast.

Tide plays a noticeable but not critical role. Mid tide offers the best balance, with firmer sand and more organised banks. Lower tide can sharpen the banks and increase current movement, while high tide pushes the water right up the beach, adding shorebreak and reducing usable space.
