I only find out about this on the day from friends but for the next few weekend, Avanti West Coast trains between Glasgow and Carlisle are diverted along the Glasgow South Western Line via Kilmarnock, so, I walked down to the station for a couple of hours to catch some of them, along with the usual selection of class 156s, travelling to/from destinations such as Glasgow Central, Barrhead, Kilmarnock and Carlisle.
