Hi and welcome back to Hike and Seeker channel.

In today's episode, I want to share with you my thoughts on Hiking layers.
To get the best possible benefit from your hiking clothes you have to adopt a layering system. Which means different layers of light clothing to regulate your body temperature. I suggest that when you first start your hike, begin with just a base layer and see if you warm up. Then you only need to add layers when you stop for a break.

If your still cold after hiking for 15 to 20 minutes then add outer layers one at a time. Arctic conditions obviously require a different method. Merino wool is good for base layers but any type of lightweight wool will be fine. A down jacket could be your third layer, lightweight with good insulation value. It doesn't have to be other layers can work. A rain jacket can be another layer which is always good for a windy day, that isn't really cold.
