Before leaving Miami, we stopped at Robert Is Here — one of South Florida’s most iconic fruit stands.

What makes it truly special? Robert himself is still there, standing at the cashier, writing down each item by hand, adding everything in his head — no register, no calculator — just memory.

He even still uses a flip phone.

We walked through rows of tropical fruit, talked with Robert about what some fruits were and where they come from, grabbed their famous shakes and fresh juices, and explored the little farm with turtles and animals.
