Winter in Idaho is no joke, and keeping our 30+ rescued exotic animals safe and warm takes a lot of work. In this video, we take you behind the scenes at Maxey’s Reptile Reserve to show you how we care for our cold-blooded friends during the colder months.

You'll meet Soni and Chompers, our alligators in the Alligator House, snapping turtles as they move from outdoor ponds to indoor winter homes, baby tortoises staying warm in their specialized tortoise houses, and giant pythons as we ensure they stay cozy despite the freezing temperatures.

From heating systems to habitat adjustments, we do whatever it takes to ensure these incredible animals thrive year-round. Watch to see how we make it happen!
