Описание к видео Bert Lown's Orch. - Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone

BERT LOWN led superior jazz-oriented dance band during 1929-33. As a violinist he worked for a time in the 1920's as a
sideman, he collaborated with Hamm, Chauncy Gray and Dave Bennett on "Bye Bye Blues" which they first recorded on May 1, 1925. In 1929 Lown began his series of recordings and among his sidemen were trombonist Miff Mole, drummer Stan King and (most importantly) bass saxophonist Adrian Rollini (who was succeeded by Spencer Clark in 1931). During 1930-31, Lown's band was employed regularly at the Biltmore Hotel in New York, frequently broadcasting on the radio. During this period Lown also composed "You're The One I Care For" and "Tired." In later years, Bert Lown held executive positions and was involved in CBS-TV from 1951 until suffering a heart attack in 1962

New York Biltmore Hotel was a luxury hotel in New York City, founded by John McEntee Bowman and designed by the architectural firm of Warren and Wetmore (who also designed the adjoining Grand Central Terminal) and had a red granite skin. It was one of three hotels built as part of the Terminal City development. The others were the Commodore Hotel, now the Grand Hyatt New York, and the Roosevelt Hotel, still in operation.

In 1942, the hotel was the location of the famous Biltmore Conference of Zionist groups that produced the "Biltmore Program" - a series of demands, regarding Palestine. The building was gutted in the early 1980's by owner Seymour Milstein and The Bank of America Plaza Building, at 335 Madison Avenue, was built from the hotel's steel skeleton. The office building retains the hotel's famous piano and lobby clock , one of many which claim to be the basis for the expression "Meet me under the clock".
