1 - The name
It derives from the value of the unitary displacement 124,73 cc ( x 12 cylinders = 1496,77 cc ) around 125 cc.
The “S” stands for Sport.
2 - Units made
Two units were built : the first known as “Thick Wing” ("Ala spessa"), the second copy, called "Competizione".
The two cars were later disassembled and used to make the next 125 F1 and 159.
Ferrari made replicas in the late 1980s starting with original drawings and images.
3 - Test
The car was tested and driven by Franco Cortese, the first Ferrari driver, in chronological order
4 - The debut
The debut of the Ferrari 125 S took place at the Piacenza circuit on 11 May 1947, entrusted to Franco Cortese and Nino Farina.
