Flatpak is more than just a package manager, but the interface can work similarly to the package managers list apt or dnf found on Debian/Ubuntu or RedHat/Fedora respectively. What's cool about Flatpaks is they are both sandboxed and cross platform - meaning that the applications get packaged once and can work on any Linux distribution, regardless of what the distro uses - i.e. .deb, .rpm, etc.
