Episode 13 // Elan Valley - Caban Coch Dam

Sitting in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, The Elan Valley never fails to delight and inspire. is a beautiful area stretching 72 square miles with awe-inspiring landscapes and thriving wildlife.

Elan is a beautiful and unspoilt area made even more compelling by the dams and reservoirs which together create a wonderful, living landscape.

Sadly I didn't have long in the area as I was only passing through the area on my way up north, I saw the forecast was looking promising so made the detour into mid-Wales. I arrived in the dark and found myself a quiet spot to spend the night. I awoke in the morning to an incredible scene, it felt like I had the entire valley to my self without another soul to be seen. The water was perfectly still, one gigantic mirror reflecting the beautiful landscapes that surround the reservoirs.
