Jeremy Taylor sings Jacques Brel

Jeremy Taylor made his career writing and singing his own songs in South Africa, in the UK and beyond. This is Jeremy Taylor's last performance, a house concert in London in which he presents songs of Jacques Brel.

Jeremy's own songs sprang from him in a way that is not dissimilar from the way Brel composed. They both wrote as observers. They wrote of what they felt, what was personal, what delighted them or what seemed incongruous, out of place or heart breaking. Their outputs differ in style, although there is overlap. But the integrity of what they put down is of the same cloth. In this performance Jeremy’s heart-felt regard for Brel is on display in a way he had not presented before. He sings in French with running translations before each song. These are not presented in Brel’s high key manner, but in Jeremy’s voice they are a loving tribute to Jacques Brel.
