Here’s a sequence of stationary and moving drills/reps working on changing the angle prior to release while disguising the timing of that release along with the in-game NHL transfer application of the skill.

Setup - puck is set on the toe of the blade away from the body.

Transition - load weight onto the inside foot, pull hands in position in front of the body while pushing off of inside foot.

Finish - drive bottom hand to the target at the same time the weight shift to the lead foot takes place. The audio cue of the lead foot landing is when the bottom hand drives at the target aggressively. Head translates to the net for proper posture, power, and accuracy.
