We also include the history of the beautiful car. This Scania LBS 140 was delivered new in July 1972 to someone in Sweden.

Here it ran as a flatbed truck with frames for just under five years, before it was traded in. Leiv Gunnerud from Prestfoss in Sigdal has recently received a contract for chipping for Sigdal Kjøkken.

There is talk of 9 loads per month to be picked up in Gävle on Sweden's east coast, a little north of Stockholm.

To manage this, Leiv went to Sweden in the spring of 1977 and imported this LBS 140 car, as well as a Scania LS 140. The nose car had also been delivered new in the summer of 1972 to someone in Sweden.

It received the registration number JU 36417 in Norway, while the LBS 140 received the registration number JU 36411. Both cars were registered as tractors and put into use here at home on 30 June 1977.

The LS 140 ran this route for five years, before Leiv Gunnerud sold it in June 1982 to Østlandske Spennbetong at Hønefoss, where the car was in operation until January 1994.

But now it will be about the LBS 140, which was given the registration number JU 36411. When the car wasn't in Gävle to pick up shavings, so loaded it to the continent for Nortrail.

There was also time for some domestic driving for Sigdal Kjøkken. Leiv Gunnerud got more and more to do, so that in the mid-80s he was up to nine cars at the most.

At the beginning of 1991, JU 36411 was converted into a tipper with a tipper box and painted blue. Driving in Sweden is gone and the activity for Sigdal Kjøkken has also decreased.

Leiv Gunnerud now has some timber trucks put in at Løvenskiold Vækerø in Nordmarka. JU 36411 runs as a plow truck here, and otherwise on local tipping.

In June 2002, the car was transferred to his son Trond Gunnerud, who lives in Flå, far south of Hallingdal. Trond uses the Scania as a farm and tipper.

Six years later, the need is no longer the same and he parks the car in 2008.

Leiv Gunnerud drops out in 2015 and a few years later Trond gets the urge to restore the LBS 140 back to the way it was when his father took it into use in the summer of 1977.

He contacts Tunga Vehicle renovations in Finnerödja to see if they can take on the task of returning it to a towing vehicle.

The Swedes will be happy to help and at the same time they are restoring the cabin from rust and tidying up the interior, before the car is painted in the old colors again.

On the third of May 2023, JU 36411 will be submitted for EU control and will go straight through. This date was also Leiv's birthday.

Trond Gunnerud has made a nice memory of his father, and the car likes to take part in veteran meetings.
