Good Friday and Easter time invite us to reflect on themes of renewal, transformation, and the journey of the soul. In my work with glass, I'm constantly reminded of the delicate balance between fragility and strength, transparency and reflection, much like the human spirit itself. These holy days remind us of the potential for rebirth within our own lives—how, from the depths of hardship, new beginnings can emerge. Good Friday teaches us about the courage to face our darkest moments, trusting in the promise of light that Easter brings.

Art, in its essence, is a mirror of this spiritual journey. Each piece I create embarks on its own path of transformation, from raw, unformed sheets of glass to intricate sculptures that speak to the viewer's soul. This process is a meditation on growth and the beauty that arises from facing and overcoming challenges.

The architectural stacked glass window project presented here - the windows of the "The Way of the Cross" at "Roots and Wings" chapel in Bārbele, Latvia, remains unfinished due to the lack of funding. Priest Andrejs Medins, the patron of the chapel, is one of the most socially active people in Latvia, developing respites for the lost, schools for children and resuscitating old, noteworthy churches and small towns through his pro-activity.
