Precision Mathews PM-940M-PDF Mill

This is a brief overview of the Precision Mathews PM-940M-PDF mill. This mill has the optional Power Down Feed and power cross feed. It was outfitted with a DRO before I bought it. This is a square column benchtop category mill. Even though it's a good sized machine and sits on it's own stand, it's lineage comes from smaller benchtop machines. This mill has pretty generous size capacities, but isn't the most rigid or super powerful. This is more than ok as long as you know the limitations of the machine. It has done everything I've asked it to do without bogging it down. The machine will vibrate and tell you you've reached it's capabilities before things get out of hand. For the hobby machinist, it's just fine. It's not a production machine with a bunch of horsepower that can make huge cuts deep and fast. That being said, it's plenty accurate and makes a beautiful finish. Perfect! I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. I'd say the only real drawback to this machine is it sets you up for wanting more! LOL
