The Washington County Democrats Rapid Response Action Group will be holding a protest today at the Washington County Courthouse.  Next Tuesday, the Washington County Commissioners plan to introduce a Resolution that clarifies how Washington County will comply with all laws and rules of the Trump Administration.  These sorts of Resolutions seek to abide by the White House to avoid being defunded.  Let's face it, he has a gun to the head of all states and Counties, and he plans to use it financially. Crafting new resolutions is a tricky business, but the sitting commissioners have done so and intend to pass them.  The devil, however, is always in the details.

Commissioner Nafisa Fai has an amendment to this pending Resolution that the Washington County Democrats want to push through.  Fai has demonstrated exceptional leadership in recent months, consistently standing up for immigrants, taxpayers, and the working class more effectively than anyone in Washington County.  The Herald will be following this story, and it appears that Chair Kathryn Harrington, who is embroiled in ethics investigations and an internal investigation over the CWS debacle, is once again trying to push something through with little to no public input and the force of her aggressive personality.
