The case of Darlie Routier is one of the most difficult cases that I have ever studied in the entirety of my career. I was not previously aware of the facts surrounding it prior to beginning my research, so when I began my investigation I was shocked at what I found. A truly unimaginable story that left me completely heartbroken over what transpired on June 6th, 1996.

In today's video we will explore both sides of the case, analyzing the evidence that the state brought against Darlie as well as the evidence that has arisen in support of her innocence. I will share with you my own journey through this case, and how I arrived at the startling conclusion that there is far more to this story than most people fully understand or realize.

Note: Due to the sheer size and volume of the trial record, appellate pleadings, and records that exist in this case, I have tried to summarize the main points as best I can. However, this is not a forensic analysis of the evidence, as that would likely required well over 100 hours to do correctly. This is however my view of the case and what transpired following the events in Rowlett, Texas in June of 1996.

My hope is that this story will help explain why I took my time to complete it, and why I believe that this is a deeply important case, with vitally important issues that we can no longer afford to ignore.
