(Dearest reader, it has come to my attention that if I spent more time looking at words instead of just punching this here coin in the machine and see what I win, the songs would turn out way better. While this is of course preposterous, I fear I’m becoming monotonous so maybe this space could be spent harmoniously)

This is really so weird, I feel naked in a way. Posting my lyrics up here like I’ve got something to say.
Most of the time, not at all though, that said it’s the classic human combo
Beats and bleats from the trumpets and drums are neat but when the rhythm th-th-th-this way comes
You gotta have something meaningful or wicked to say or the listeners you corralled will be done

Sharing these thoughts can be rather jarring. Showing other people how much you’re try-hard-ing.
To make good lyrics, but I admit the song’s direction it’s not easy to steer it
Given the cadence and inflection
That I want things said in my songs for all to hear.
But I know people read artificial and refuse to turn the other ear.
I made this all myself, lyrically, as embarrassing as that may be.
But I’m having such a good time crafting songs and scenes.
And even if it comes out wrong, for what could that even mean?
Some parts of making a song are a matter of having a part that’s finished
So you can build off and ladder your way to the next creative beginning.
Or maybe music is like a tattoo,
What’s good is good
How it came to be is just a story, which the plot has just withstood.

Is that not what we’re doing, bridging some gaps? I don’t think people would enjoy it as much if they had to listen to me rap. This next part, though, not quite a poem but for you I think it’s worth knowing.

(Dearest reader, me again, you can tell by now I’ve come down with a terrible case of imposter syndrome and I’ve felt the need to defend the creative spirit of which remains even when those are lacking in creative game and freedom. I may not be one for tunes, but I love a bit of silly jibber jabber. After all, not all songs we hear were produced on a silver platter. So while I acknowledge that there’s aspects to this that make my gut wrench to think where it could lead, for now I’m having a good time just seeing what music sounds good to me.)
