2024 Brown Bag Series Dr Liisa Postareff | Häme University of Applied Sciences

The presentation focuses on introducing a research project (THEwellbeing, 2022-2026, funded by the Research Council of Finland) investigating the relations between higher education teachers’ approaches to teaching and wellbeing. During spring 2024 a large data set has been collected from 60 higher education teachers in Finland. The data includes questionnaires, video-recordings of teaching situations, guided reflection sessions, experience sampling and measurement of physiological arousal with smart rings. The presentation focuses specifically on describing the data on teachers’ emotions and physiological arousal (electrodermal activity, EDA), and presenting some preliminary findings concerning the relations between emotions, EDA and approaches to teaching.
