In this Minecraft 1.12 preview we look at the new Minecraft parrots, a new passive bird mob that lives in the jungle and can be tamed to sit on your shoulder.

The new Minecraft parrots currently come in 4 colours - see how to tame Minecraft parrots and get them to sit on your shoulder in this Minecraft 1.12 preview, along with a first look at the new Advancement system, which will replace achievements.

The new Minecraft Advancement system adds unlockable recipes - you will now be able to learn how to easily craft new items after collecting the raw material for the first time using the new interface that goes with crafting.
