Old Skool Easy Vanilla Slice Recipe or as some people say Custard Slice Recipe!! No Fuss. DELICIOUS!

We decided to have a go at a vanilla slice. We both have fond memories of eating them as a child and still they are a firm favourite. The recipe was quite easy, using custard powder instead of making a custard with eggs and cream. We used shop bought puff pastry as well to make it simple. When I tasted it, the result was fantastic, the pastry was light and flaky, the custard was light but rich and full of vanilla and the icing was amazing. The only issue was the custard was still quite fluid, so it oozed out of the sides and all over my mouth and fingers! It didn't matter to me it was delicious and well worth making. 2 sheets puff pastry
315 g caster sugar
2 packs instant custard powder
600ml double cream
135 ml milk
2 tsp vanilla extract

500g Icing sugar
10g Butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
Milk
