🐒The Crowned Guenon (Cercopithecus pogonias) is a lively Old World monkey found in the rainforests of Central and West Africa, including countries like Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Congo. It gets its name from the distinctive crown-like marking on its head, along with its expressive face and long tail.

Crowned Guenons are arboreal and agile, spending most of their time high in the forest canopy. They live in small social groups and communicate using calls, facial expressions, and body movements. Their diet includes fruits, leaves, seeds, flowers, and insects, making them important for seed dispersal in the forest.

These monkeys are curious and alert, often moving quickly between branches to avoid predators. While not currently the most threatened guenon species, they are affected by deforestation and hunting, which reduce their forest habitats.
