The Stratford Irish ☘️ are proud to announce that Zach Magwood has been named Captain for the 2025–26 season.

Magwood, a Cambridge, Ontario native, joined the Irish last year and was instrumental in delivering a championship to Stratford. Known for his professionalism, leadership, and relentless compete level, Zach embodies what it means to wear the Irish crest.

Magwood’s hockey journey has been nothing short of impressive. He grew up in the Cambridge Hawks program before starring in the OHL with the Barrie Colts. His pro career includes time in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals and Belleville Senators, followed by stints in Europe’s top leagues, including the ICEHL and DEL2.

Last season with Stratford, Magwood was an offensive force — 31 points (15G, 16A) in 16 regular-season games and 30 points (17G, 13A) in 15 playoff games — leading the Irish to glory and earning the respect of teammates and fans alike.

Magwood now takes the torch from former captain Justin Murray, continuing the culture of excellence and brotherhood that defines the Irish.
