Rapping is weird as hell man. It gives you the chance to freeze emotions in time, almost like how a picture captures a moment. Making music is very difficult at least for me because I have the tendency to sit on songs after I make them. Sometimes when that music sits in the vault for too long it begins to collect dust, you grow as a person or things change and you might not feel the same way you did when you are ready to put it out as you you did when you made it. Making music can make for awkward rooms as well because it’s hard for people who don’t to understand that. I have been rapping since I was 9 years old. Eminem was a big reason for that lol. My brother saw something in me and told me that I could do what he did (I wish right 😂). I’ve gone through many phases as an artist since then. Some of them have been horrible. I took a long break from music after having kids and life happened. I became a barber and luckily for me those guys had a lot of faith in me and in their own ways always still encouraged me to chase my actual dream. I wanted to reinvent myself so we decided to come up with a name in the barbershop I could start putting out music under. “YAX3” was a officially born. I’ll save the details on that for another post that is way too long like this one. That was already almost 2 years ago, and I had already been working on this “project” I have now for a year at the time. 3 fucking years to make about 15 songs. As you can imagine I made a lot of songs that captured emotions or feelings I just don’t have anymore. But the thing about making music is, it’s not for you. It is for the listener, so maybe some shit I was going through at the time (god willing people actually listen to it) can help someone or relate to them on some shit they’re going through, just like i did. That’s why it’s important to me that all of these songs come out still. With that being said I’m excited to say I’ll be releasing my first actual music video as YAX3. Crown Jewel.
