🌟Phenomenal revival of the legendary classic The WIZ ✨. Ease On Down NOW! Family friendly Broadway performance. Worthy to be Tony Award 🏆 Nominee for the acting, dancing, comedy, transitional lighting, electrifying orchestra, and digital on-stage scenery for the grandeur depth in real imagination from the seats of the audience.

🌟Celebrating the ageless 🎉 Wayne Pennington Lane's 76th Birthday.🥳 I was privileged to observe and hear the fabulous Broadway revival of The WIZ ✨. We had a magical experience.

🌟The direction was executed with finesse except for the very strange costume change of Dorothy. There was a small possibility of too much dialogue in Act One. I get it, for the realization of the text.

🌟The lighting was exemplary and the set was proficient. The application of the "new media" was used with distinction.

🌟The cast was off the "hook". Every character was casted to absolute knock down, stomp out perfection.

🎭Evillene (Wicked Witch of the West), performed by Melody A. "Diva" Betts, stormed the house down with her complete Evil presence. She let everyone know with her two - and - half octave range, she was There! 🔮

🎭Lion, performed by Kyle "Roar" Ramar Freeman, thundered and scorched through the production in a wonderful and transforming Kitty Kat rendition of "Mean Ole Lion". 🦁

🎭Scarecrow, performed by Keenan D. Washington, danced the straw out of his costume and sang the roof off of Dorothy's house. 🌽

🎭Scarecrow, performed by Avery Wilson (July 2nd), singing, “You Can’t Win”, in the crop field entertaining the crows 🐦‍⬛ . Dancing the straws out of his clothing 👕👖and boots 🥾. 🌾


🎭Tinman, performed by Phillip Johnson Richardson, slipped and slid with an abundance of oil all across the stage. He was a man made of tin or something and delivered an oily performance of distinction. ⚙️

🎭Glinda (Good Witch of the South), performed by Deborah Cox, sparkled, dazzled, and exploded with artistry. I have only one more thing to say, "VOICE!" 🔮

🎭Dorothy, performed by Nichelle Lewis, was discovered on TikTok, a social media platform, and what a discovery it is. Ms. Lewis is a triple threat: she can dance, she can act, and beyond a shadow of a doubt, she can sing. 👠🏠👠

🎭The WIZ, performed by Wayne Brady, brought the heat of Florida all the way to the Broadway stage. He electrified and glorified the audience with his vivacious and stunning performance. Mr. Brady exuded excellence with a well thought out characterization of his role. Well done! 🌈

🎭The WIZ, performed by Alan Mingo, Jr. (July 2nd), introducing his own colorful rendition as the Great Powerful Wizard of Oz. Hip-hop vibing choreography for the thundering applause. Alan Mingo, Jr. literally elevates the standard to play this iconic role. 🌈✨

✨Wayne and I thoroughly enjoyed the show.🌈
