Chatpate Matar Tikki

Servings - 4

INGREDIENTS
Dry white peas -250 grams
Water - 500 milliliters
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 500 milliliters
Boiled mashed potatoes - 400 grams
Crushed bread slices - 2
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
Oil - for frying
Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Tamarind chutney - 1 tablespoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
Onions - 20 grams
Tomato - 20 grams
Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Green chili - 1 teaspoon
Coriander - 1 tablespoon
Tamarind chutney - 2 teaspoons
Sev - 1 tablespoon

PREPARATION
1. In a bowl, add 250 grams dry white peas, 500 milliliters water, 1 teaspoon salt and soak for 6 - 8 hours.
2. Take a pressure cooker, add soaked dry white peas, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 500 milliliters water and stir well.
3. Cover it with lid and cook until you hear 3 - 4 whistles.
4. Open the lid and remove it from heat.
5. In a bowl, add 400 grams boiled mashed potatoes , 2 crushed bread slices, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon green chili, 1 tablespoon coriander and mix it well.
6. Now, knead into dough.
7. Take some mixture in your hand and shape it into a tikki.
8. Heat sufficient oil in a pan and deep fry these until golden brown and crispy.
9. Remove it from heat and drain it on an absorbent paper.
10. In a pan, add boiled white peas, 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder and cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
11. Add 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney, 1 tablespoon coriander powder and cook for 5 - 7 minutes.
12. In a serving plate, add prepared peas, 2 tikki, 20 grams onions, 20 grams tomato, 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1 teaspoon green chili, 1 tablespoon coriander, 2 teaspoons tamarind chutney.
13. Serve.
