Regis Namuddu, the director for the Leadership Center Makerere University Business School (MUBS), speaks in the first Women-Led Initiatives for Peace and Development Session of the Global Peace Leadership Conference 2018 Uganda, on August 1st.


"Women bring unique value to the family and larger society through their natural capacity for empathy and ability to create harmonious
relationships. These can be invaluable resources for peace and
development on the grassroots, community levels. Women-led
initiatives help to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
(SDG) to increase opportunities for women in education, the economy,
politics and public life. We seek to emphasize women’s unique and
innate talents and seek out ways to engage them as leaders for peace
and development in the home and the world."

Leaders of many sectors, from education to business and investment, came together to discuss how their work can affect the larger region of East Africa/Great Lakes through this GPLC's theme, "Cultivating Moral and Innovative Leadership". Their discussions in Uganda were to cultivate this East Africa region to be able to be leaders in the larger vision of peace.
