It might be June already but... Scottish harp tunes are never late, and arrive precisely when they mean to...

Here is the Kilcoy clarsach, built by Ardival in Scotland, which I acquired secondhand from Jack. The build of the harp is a smaller scale version of the historical Lamont (which is the clarsach most of my past videos have been played on).

The two tunes are from the Patrick Macdonald manuscript (1784) from the Argylleshire collection.

The first is a lovely melancholy air. In the manuscript it is followed by what looks to me as a fiddle jig, in Am.
It could be speculated they were only put together due to their names - but it might not be coincidence that the first tune ends on the same note as the anacrusis in the following tune... which on a basic level of interpretation seems like a bridge to me.

I haven't searched to see if any lyrics have survived for the first tune... I'll update if I find any.
