This Thursday, September 26th, we are partying like it's 1999 at the historic #babcocktheatre with a showing of thext film to play as part of our ongoing Nostalgia Night series! This time, we will be putting on a special screening of Brian Robbins's terrific and comedic sports drama, VARSITY BLUES, in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary! 25 years later, and this film still holds up as an encouraging underdog story as well as a strong message of freeing oneself from multigenerational dreams and expectations for the sake of your own goals! In a small Texas town, high school football is treated like a religion, and every game is considered a major event, with the spirits of the community being dependent on the performance of the young athletes. When star quarterback Lance Harbor suffers a leg injury, the Coyotes are forced to regroup under the questionable lead of second string quarterback John Moxon, who takes an irreverent approach to the sport with unorthodox techniques.
