One of the most successful jockeys in history, Steve Cauthen, returned to Ireland for the first time in 30 years today, when he visited the Curragh for the launch of the 2022 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. Cauthen paid a visit to Old Vic gallop at the Curragh as Old Vic, the horse Cauthen rode to victory in the 1989 Irish Derby was inducted into the Kildare Derby Festival’s Hall of Fame. In a glittering career, Cauthen rode a total of five Irish classic winners at the Curragh and he was happy to be back at the track on which he enjoyed some of the best moments of his career
