This is the moment Australian naval ships HMAS Ballarat and Sirius carry out the second phase of Exercise Malabar.

The training exercise was carried out in coordination with ships from the Indian, Japanese and US navies in the Bay of Bengal between 11th and 15th October.

HMAS Ballarat is based at Fleet Base West in Western Australia and has spent substantial time working with regional partners around the Indo-Pacific.

The Anzac-class frigate was launched in 2002 and commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) two years later.

It has a length of 118 metres (387 ft) and comes equipped with four Harpoon Block II anti-ship missiles along with a variety of other arms.

HMAS Ballarat has been active in protecting borders in Operation Relex II. It was also deployed in the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Catalyst, and it was one of two ships that participated in the 2009 round-the-globe voyage Operation Northern Trident.

HMAS Sirius was a commercial tanker in the past but now operates as a fleet replenishment vessel.

In the footage, HMAS Sirius can be seen carrying out a replenishment drill as part of the exercise.

The tanker has a displacement of 46,755 tonnes, a length of 191 metres (627 ft)and comes equipped with five 12.7 mm machine guns.
