▶️The 3D animation uses a straight flow (z-type) globe valve as an example. The valve is closed when air pressure is applied and opened when the air pressure is drained.

The concept of ‘fail safe’ is discussed. The fail-safe design means that a valve will turn to a pre-defined position upon loss of power. This position is designed to be ‘safe’ i.e. a position that will not cause a dangerous situation should the valve lose power.
